India is a synthesis of cultures, religions and language of the people belonging to different castes and communities has upheld its unity and cohesiveness. Atrocities during colonial period gathered citizen to fight the rulers and drive them out of the country, people from all walks of life selflessly participated in the freedom struggle. People lost their lives, went to jail during protest, but they keep fighting collectively despite being a synthesis of diverse social and cultural element is a big example of unity in diversity and it holds special significance for our country.

This diversity can be attributed to our past comprising of years of migration, intermixing, inventions and compared to isolation through the natural geographical boundaries. India witnesses a history of experimenting cultures giving rise to new forms, whose diversity can be felt in the number of cultural groups, religions, languages, occupational units and socio-political groups. India presents the scope of different cultures and traditions, different social groups and communities had different values and different legacies of organised values giving rise to similar heritage fewer generations and it differs from region to region.

The merger of customs and the development of teachings, the development of tolerance and solidarity in which leads us to unity in diversity. The same effect of migration was seen when people belonging to different ethnic groups immigrated to India. They mix up adopting their social and biological characters with local population exchanges and expressing new forms of customs and social designs resulting in diverse physical forms and lifestyles.

Mass involvement with such a diverse language family proves to be the strength of our cultural roots. We go through phases of cultural development following ancient traditional values. Despite the difference in our social structural formulation, the complexity of the caste system has led to the pain of preaching.

Our secular state and constitution gives us the status of a sovereign, secular, socialist and democratic republic, which we all enjoy with pride and joy. This also denote and mean collective approach and equal opportunity being rendered by our lawmakers.

The framers of the Indian Constitution have also acknowledged and made specific provisions for this as it helps to promote the basis of equal opportunity for all. ndia is a plural society. It is repository of multiplicity of cultures. Our civilization stretching over five thousand years, provides the most distinctive feature in the coexistence of unity in diversity.
